Tens of thousands are waiting for April the Giraffe going into labor, but the National Zoo has some adorable babes of their own to share: a pack of adorable new cheetah cubs!
Zoo officials say ten cubs were born at the Smithsonian's Conservation Biology Institute in Front Royal within the past two weeks. Three-year-old Happy gave birth to five cubs on March 28th and seven-year-old Miti gave birth to seven with five of them surviving on March 28th (sadly, apparently, losses are common with litters).
Both clans have two male and three female cheetah cubs. Biologists say the mothers and their babies are doing well. Check out these cute little critters . . .
