Walmart cashier randomly buys groceries for a family of 5

When Ashley Jordan, a South Carolina mother of three, was at a Walmart in Columbia doing her grocery shopping, she was treated to a random act of kindness from her cashier.  Ashley and her husband had two carts full of food as they were checking out and that’s when cashier Sharnique Dasant told the couple they looked like they needed a “blessing.”

“She said ‘I think y’all need a blessing tonight!’ And she walked around to the machine and swiped the card,” Ashley explains. “She said ‘God told me to bless y’all!’  I said ‘Are you serious? Okay, thank you!’ ”

Sharnique insisted on covering half of the grocery bill, so she paid $100 of her own hard-earned money to help these strangers out.  Ashley was blown away by the generous gesture and posted a photo she took with Sharnique to Facebook, where it’s received more than 30,000 likes.  “It has opened my heart,” Ashley says.  “I plan on paying it forward in the future.”
