A tractor trailer in Washington state caused a bit of a mess yesterday when it spilled about 40-thousand pounds of chicken feathers across Interstate 5. The driver had been carrying the feathers from a poultry facility to a company in Vancouver that turns animal byproducts into other ingredients used in pet feed and soap. State Trooper Rick Johnson reveals that the driver fell asleep about 3:30 a.m., lost control of the truck, which then hit a guardrail and flipped. Traffic had been backed up 11-miles while crews cleaned up the feathers. State Trooper Johnson says the driver will be cited for negligent driving.
