Bindi Irwin got engaged to Chandler Powell on her 21st birthday. And while her father,Steve Irwin, won’t be on hand to walk her down the aisle, she knows he’ll be “beaming with pride” on her big day, thanks to her brother, Robert.
In a sweet Instagram post, Bindi told her late father, “You would be so incredibly proud of Robert. He has been such an amazing support during this beautiful new life chapter. I know you’d be beaming with pride when the time comes that he walks me down the aisle. I wish you could be here for these moments, but I know that your spirit lives on in us.”
Steve Irwin was 44-years-old when he was stabbed in the chest by a stingray barb while shooting a wildlife documentary in 2006. Bindi was eight-years-old at the time.
