Bride Wants Cancer-Stricken Bridesmaid To Wear Wig & Pay Extra For Makeup

We’ve heard time and time again how self-involved brides can get, often taking it out on their bridesmaids, but this one just might take the cake.

A women who is battling cancer revealed on Reddit’s “Bridezilla” forum that her "good friend" is giving her grief about being bald for the bride’s upcoming wedding, where she’s a bridesmaid. The woman shares that she agreed to be a bridesmaid before getting her cancer diagnosis, noting, “since being diagnosed, I have lost my hair, including eyebrows and eyelashes.” Now that the wedding is only two weeks away, the woman says the bride keeps commenting about her wearing a wig for the wedding.

“On a daily basis I just rock my bald head and it is not financially feasible or practical for me to purchase a ‘good’ wig just for her wedding,” she shares. “I don’t know how to bring this up to her. I understand she doesn’t want me bald, but it’s who I am right now.” But that’s not all. The bride has also just told her that the person hired to do makeup wants to charge the bald bridesmaid extra “because ‘she will have to put in extra work on you,’” with the bridesmaid noting, “Am I wrong in feeling that this is completely unfair?”

  • As you can imagine, folks online had little sympathy for the bride-to-be with one person noting, “Just tell her that you’re terribly sorry your life-threatening condition is inconveniencing her.”
  • Meanwhile another thought of a way to kinda get back at the bride for her insensitivity. “I’d buy a clown wig if I was in this situation,” they shared. “Tell the ‘friend’ that she never specified that she didn’t want a clown wig worn to her wedding.”
  • Finally, another noted, “I hope (the author) bows out. ‘Forcing your bridesmaid to pay extra because cancer made her un-pretty’ is one of the most selfish things I’ve heard.”
