Rats Love to Play Hide & Seek for Fun, Often Squeal With Joy When They Win Which rodents just proved themselves to be expert hide-and-seekers?
You know who loves a good game of cat-and-mouse? Rats! A new study finds that rats can be taught to play hide and seek and that they often squeal with joy when they win. In just a few weeks, rats in the study quickly caught on to the game, even developing strategies and tactics to help them win. Many rats even went and hid again after being caught, delaying their reward in doing so. "They look like they're having fun," says study author Michael Brecht.
