Police Now Testing Spiderman Device To Replace Tasers

Life often imitates art and for police, they are taking a page right out of Spiderman's playbook as they are now testing a new Spiderman like device that could be used to replace tasers.  With 49 people killed last year after being shocked by Tasers, police departments across the United States are trying out this new device that fires a tether that entangles and restrains the suspect. Just like Spiderman does it.  It's called the Bolawrap and it fires an eight-foot bola-style tether at a suspect to entangle their legs and prevent escape. It works at a range of 10-25 ft. The inventors of the device say that there is definitely an appetite for more non-lethal tools in policing. The device is currently being tested out by dozens of police departments in the United States, as well as in Australia and New Zealand.
