Be very careful about throwing outany artwork you may think is cheap. Sometimes we are surrounded by works of art and we don't even realize it. A woman in France had spent years cooking in her kitchen with a long-lost painting by pre-Renaissance painter Cimabue hanging on the wall. Experts said the woman decided to have the painting appraised one day and numerous tests were conducted and confirmed that the painting is original. Officials couldn't believe that it was, in fact, the work of 13th-century Italian artist Cimabue, aka Cenni di Pepo. The painting is on its way to auction. The 10-inch painting, titled "Mocking of Christ," is expected to fetch up to $6.5 million when it goes to auction on October 27.
