You may remember that we told you a new Johnny Cash documentary is set to debut on YouTube and now the first official trailer for the film has been released.
“The Gift: The Journey of Johnny Cash,” directed by Thom Zimny, looks back on Johnny’s artistic triumphs, as well as his personal struggles, including his battle with addiction. It features recently discovered archival footage, as well as interviews with family, friends and collaborators.
The 90-minute documentary will screen at the 50th Annual Nashville Film Festival on Monday, and then debut on YouTube November 11th. The film features original music composed and performed by Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, with a companion soundtrack, “The Gift: The Journey Of Johnny Cash (The Original Soundtrack)” to be released sometime this fall.
