A true twist of fate has brought two eleven-year-old girls a special friendship thanks to a message in a bottle. Literally. Sofia Wilson wrote down her feelings about the COVID-19 pandemic while her family was stuck in Florida and sent it out to sea in a bottle. Sarah Walters found the bottle two weeks later while on a trip to the beach in North Carolina. Sarah reached out to Sofia to respond, and now the two talk constantly. Their families are arranging a time for them to meet in person.
