There’s nothing like surprising the person you love, but sometimes those surprises can be a disaster. Hopefully, your love is strong enough to be able to laugh about the fail later, and that’s exactly what happened with this couple, whose attempt to surprise each other went horribly wrong.
A women named Salma Saade recently took to Twitter to celebrate the time she and her boyfriend both tried to surprise each other, but each wound up in another country. “Happy 4 year anniversary to when I flew to Edinburgh to surprise Finlay and he flew to Paris to surprise me,” she tweeted, “and this is why we don’t do surprises anymore." He then replied, “Turns out we were in Edinburgh Airport at the same time going in opposite directions."
She then shared their text exchange from the surprise fail, which shows her texting their friend Adam to see where Finlay was, and Adam informing her Finlay had just flown to Paris to surprise her. Salma then texted her man, writing "Please tell me you're not in Paris lol. COME BACK I AM HERE. HERE AS IN EDINBURGH. I'M SORRY. I WAS TRYING TO BE CUTE. COME BACK NOW,” and he responded, “Hahahaha. Wow. I'm in Paris. I just landed."
- Folks on social media couldn’t get enough of the story, and it was liked 500,000 times. Many replied that the whole thing sounds like the perfect story for a TV show or movie.
- “This is all I want in life,” one person shared, while another added, "Hahaha, this is just beyond words! When's your new romantic dramedy dropping on Netflix?"
