West Virginia wants you to come live there. And they’ll pay you.
The Mountain State is the latest to give you cash to live and work within its borders. It’s simple, if you work remotely the Ascend WV program will give you $12,000 to come to West Virginia. They even throw in a year’s worth of free outdoor recreation which brings the incentive up to about $20,000.
There’s only one catch. You can’t really pick your city. The first one open to the program is Morgantown. Shepherdstown and Lewisburg will be next.
Brad Smith, the former CEO of Intuit ponied up cash to kickstart the program.
