That’s why it’s best to prepare for bigger delays in your holiday purchases. Amazon, FedEx and UPS are on a hiring spree, but that may not help. What may help, if you need to get your stuff quickly, is getting it shipped to a store for you to pick up.
Companies like Best Buy and Walmart are already doing that, and have converted more stores to handle high volumes.
FedEx is calling what will be a record breaking shipping season “the ship-a-thon” and the CEO of UPS says she expects “a pretty peaky peak.”
Plan ahead and set a tight deadline for purchases so you have everything in hand by the holiday.
