Lee Brice was unable to perform at last night’s CMA Awards after testing positive for COVID-19, but it’s pretty apparent he isn’t letting it get himself down.
Lady A’s Charles Kelley replaced Lee in the performance of Carly and Lee’s duet “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” and ahead of the show Lee shared a little parody song about the whole situation, which he dedicated to Charles.
"It's only Carly/ It's my mistake/I caught COVID-19 a little too late," he sings. "But I guess there ain't ever a right time/Charles, my friend, I guess it's your time." He continues, "So go sing my part on ABC/Tell everyone I'm in quarantine/Man I love singing on this record/But I bet you do it even better," adding, "I hope you find the notes you're looking for.
- Lee captioned the video, “Sittin' here quarantined. Y'all, I am so disappointed that I'm not able to take the stage with @carlypearceand perform at this year's@cmaawards. He adds, “... BUT, I'm excited to watch my buddy @charleskelleyCRUSH it.”
