A former Minneapolis cop is being sentenced today, exactly 13 months after killing George Floyd during an arrest.
Derek Chauvin was convicted in April. His lawyers are pushing for probation. Prosecutors want at least 30-years, but state guidelines suggest ten to 15 for someone with no criminal history.
Chauvin is the one seen on video holding Floyd down until he stopped breathing. Three other ex-cops will stand trial next March.
