Australia is known for snakes, but one woman came face-to-face with one in an odd location.
Helaina Alati was shopping for spices in a local grocery store when a 10 foot long diamond python slithered out from the back of a shelf. It came within eight inches of the woman’s face!
The only reason Helaina didn’t scream and run was because she’s a trained snake catcher. She took video of the snake extending its body before telling store staff she’d get her catch bag to remove it.
The exchange with the staff was amusing to the woman who noted “I think they thought I was a bit crazy to be honest. I don’t think they knew what to say when I said there’s a 10-foot python in your aisle.”
Helaina caught the serpent and released it into the wild.
