When Susan Leger checked into the Baymont Inn in Helen, Georgia for a three-night stay, she says she received a notification from Hotels.com asking her to leave a review. She rated it three out of five stars, commenting that the hotel was run-down, and the toilet didn’t flush properly. She says the manager called her and screamed “You get out now. I call the police” and “You lie, you lie. You gave me bad review” after she had posted the review.
Amazingly, police responded to manager Danny Vyas’ call to 911 where he said he wanted them thrown out because they left a bad review, forcing the grandmother and her six-year-old granddaughter to walk a third of a mile in their pajamas to another hotel. Vyas didn’t refund Leger, but Hotels.com finally did after being contacted by the press for comment.
