All eyes will be on a historic preservation team today as they open the 1887 time capsule in Richmond, Virginia.
It was discovered last Friday at the site of the former Robert E. Lee monument. Crews found it around 20-feet above ground level in the pedestal's tower, which has led officials to believe there might be several objects inside the capsule related to the Confederacy.
The opening process will begin at noon at the Department of Historic Resources lab. The pedestal was dismantled by the crews.
