Baby’s Cries Lead VA Family’s Lost Dog Back To Them

A Virginia family’s missing dog is lured in by the sound of their five-month-old baby crying. Luna, the eight-month-old Australian shepherd puppy belonging to Amber Myers and her family, escaped from the family’s truck while they were running errands. The family looked for her all weekend, but weren’t able to track the pup down.

A couple of days later, Luna was spotted by Myers’ brother-in-law, but when he called out her name, she ran off. "It spooked her," Myers says. It turns out, when dogs are lost or missing, they often go into survival mode and can sometimes act erratically, even running away from their family. Myers posted on Facebook that day asking anyone who sees Luna to not call for her.

Later that day the family went out looking for their pup again. While the rest of the family searched for Luna on foot, Amber’s sister sat in the truck with Amber’s five-month-old son Bowen. The baby started to fuss, so his aunt picked him up and stepped out of the truck with him. Then as Bowen cried, Luna came running up to them to check on the baby. Myers had been told that dogs have a special bond with their kids and she’s convinced that Bowen’s cries are what brought Luna home to them.
