Joanne Harrison is suing her son, “Pawn Stars’” Rick Harrison, in a dispute over a family trust, cash and silver, distributions from investments, and ownership shares of the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop.
According to the paperwork, Joanne and Richard “The Old Man” Harrison were married for 58 years until he died in 2018. They started the pawn shop and he had 49 percent of the business and she had 51. She claims that Rick tricked her into signing over his part to her. “Joanne did not know or fully understand what she was allegedly signing at the time,” the documents state. The suit claims that Rick hasn’t provided her with complete documentation of the finances.
Joanne wants unspecified damages, an accounting of assets, a court order banning Rick from using funds belonging to her, and “a constructive trust” over property that belongs to her.
- Rick has responded to his mother’s lawsuit. “Now that I’ve seen the ‘Review-Journal’ story and what is alleged in the lawsuit, I can say that the allegations are false and I think that my 81-year old mother is being manipulated by others for their personal gain,” he said in an e-mail sent to the newspaper.
