The buzz in my town this week (Edinburg) has been about the small signs popping up that are attached to VDOT road signs. They aren’t just in Edinburg, they’re in all of Shenandoah County. Maybe you’ve seen a bird, a butterfly, or a red white and blue square or circle attached to a road sign? I’ve seen a monarch butterfly, cardinal, and red white and blue square sign in the Edinburg area. I’ve even seen a few on the interstate during my commute. Have you seen any? My friend found this interesting article from NBC4 from 2014. It seems a mystery man was hanging similar images on road signs in the Falls Church area in 2014. Perhaps this mystery man moved here to Shenandoah Country? Or maybe the person(s) hanging them were inspired by the man in Falls Church? Either way, I’m enjoying finding them in our small town. Next time you’re driving around the Shenandoah County area, be on the lookout for them!
