An out-of-this-world item is hitting the auction block.
Moon dust samples collected by Neil Armstrong during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969 will be up for grabs in a New York auction. Auction house Bonhams believes the moon dust could go for upwards of one-point-two-million dollars.
The reason why? It’s the first known legal NASA authenticated moon dust that’s been up for sale. The item is part of the Space History auction by Bonhams. Bidding starts today.
