Time is up for the procrastinators, the deadline to file taxes is today – as in, you need to get your return filed or postmarked by Midnight tonight. According to the IRS, about three in ten people wait until the three weeks leading up to tax day to file. The agency's data also shows about 12% of taxpayers get their taxes done within the first week that they can file, and another 11% will file late with an extension after tax Day. While typically on April 15th, this year's deadline is on Monday because of the observance of Emancipation Day in Washington, D.C.
