We all remember the hype over Starbucks' unicorn frappuccinos and then of course all the other layered drinks!
Well now there is layered color changing cold brews!
Starting February 20th, Starbucks stores throughout Asia will start selling a layered, color-changing cold brew.
The first drink is the Butterfly Pea Lemonade Cold Brew! The drink is served as a purple-to-pale-yellow-to-rich-coffee ombre. As you stir (or sip, or accidentally shake the coffee), the colors swirl together, creating an almost galaxy-like effect. The big color-change effect is the result of the bottom layer, a tea made from Butterfly Pea Flower. The tea itself is blue, but when it reacts with the citrus in the lemonade, it turns violet.
They're also coming out with a Macadamia Cocoa Cappuccino, which infuses espresso and milk foam with macadamia cocoa sauce, then tops it off with crumbled macadamias, graham crackers, and a nutty chocolate drizzle, according to a press release.
Just in case fruity-floral and nutty-chocolatey coffees aren't your thing don't worry. There's also a Tahitian Vanilla Macchiato.
There's no word yet on whether these drinks will make it to the U.S. so it looks like we'll either have to save up for this overseas vacation or work on our barista skills!
