Troy Gentry’s wife has filed a lawsuit in connection with her husband’s death. Angie Gentry is suing the makers of the aircraft Troy was flying in at the time of his death in September.
The suit against Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, Sikorsky Global Helicopters, Inc. and the Keystone Helicopter Corporation claims the company is at fault because they didn’t make the helicopter crashworthy, which means those in the aircraft had no chance of surviving.
The suit adds that while the dangers of the aircraft were “unknown to the average user and consumer,” the defendants “made it a point to hide and deny and problems that could and did cause serious personal injury and death.” It adds that the pilot’s operating handbook had no recommendations on how to handle such an emergency.
