It's against the law in Virginia to swear in public.
Now, a state lawmaker is trying to change that. Virginia State Delegate Michael Webert has pre-filed a House bill that would eliminate the crime of cussing in public. Being caught swearing in Virginia and it's a Class 4 misdemeanor.
Offenders of the archaic law can be fined up to 250-dollars. Webert says the current law is "antiquated." Webert’s past attempts at getting rid of the cussing statute have failed because some believe it would promote indecency. Source: WWBT
