Michael J's Discovered another FUTURE STAR! Landon Wall

If you listen to my radio show, you probably know I love discovering new talent, aspiring artists who get my attention with their passion for music. I have a long list of artists I've fallen in love with before they became household names and I think this 14 year old, Landon Wall is next! Listen.

With all of the stress and tragedy in the world today, this is a very insightful perspective from a young musical mind, don't you think? Let me know your thoughts. Mj

I am convinced Landon is going to be a star. You may remember he performed "Peter Pan" and Kelsea Ballerini surprised him at the Bluebird in Nashville so I know I am not alone in thinking this kid is great.

Then after blogging about him on Facebook THIS HAPPENED!

"Have you ever had a feeling about something going on in your life or in society and then that same thought that echoed in your brain came streaming out of your iHeartCountry radio in a song?

So much of our lives is represented in Country music, so I’d be willing to bet it HAS happened to you.

I’ve been interested in the Civil War since American History class in High School and I’ve always thought the saddest part of the tragedy of the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln was that when he died, so did all of his dreams for the reconstruction of our nation. Here we are, 154 years later and we’re still, in so many ways, continuing to fight the Civil War. There has never been a clear cut end to it’s associated racism and hate.

I’ve been thinking how great it would be if, maybe even on Lincoln’s birthday, every year we could have a National day of healing and as a Nation turn the conversation to productive and constructive ways to show greater respect and appreciation for others who look at things dfferently than ourselves.

While cosidering these thoughts, I came across 14 year old Landon Walland his song “Dream With Me’. Coincidence?

I call it Country music hitting the mark again. This time from an amazing FutureStar.

After posting this, word got to Landon and you’ll read our back and forth in the comments below. If this story goes as viral as I hope it will and comments become hard to follow, here is Landon’s backstory on his incredible song.

“Wow!! Thank You! Me and my dad have been writing songs together since I was 7. It began with a game we used to play in the car called the rhyming game. He's like my best friend and we talk about everything. With all the tragedy that we see in the news, it's been the topic of many of our conversations. The Vegas shootings really hit me hard. I'm a country music artist and the country music industry is a close family. The day after the shooting occurred, we were talking about how great it would be if we could change the headlines....I picked up my guitar and we started writing. When we decided to do the video, I asked my Dad if we could use 58 candles...One for each life that was lost. We recorded the song at "notes for notes", a nonprofit organization that builds and provides music studios in boys and girls clubs across the United States. The song was just released on iTunes on 11/18. Thank you so much for sharing it and playing it on your station!! It really means a lot to me!- Landon Wall”
