There Are Still A Lot Of Payphones In The U.S.

Ever wonder what happened to those giant phones on the side of the street?  According to the FCC they still exist, in fact there’s about 100,000 payphones still left in the U.S.  One fifth of those are in New York City alone.  In comparison there was roughly 2-million of them in 1999.  The FCC says its still a booming business raking in $286-million in 2015, but its slated to slow down with the rise of prepaid cellphones.
