Summer is fast approaching, which means a lot of folks will be spending time at picnics or barbecues, enjoying some tasty grub, and likely a few beers to wash it down with. But it turns out, while beer is the drink of choice for most Americans, about 43% prefer beer as opposed to wine (32%), there are some states in the country that consume a lot more brews than others.
Well, 24/7 Wall Street has just come out with a list revealing the states that drink the most beer, and you may be surprised by the results. Landing at number one is New Hampshire, which has a per-capita consumption rate of about 40.6-gallons of beer, with total beer consumption at 41.8-million gallons. The area also has 213 bars and restaurants per 100,000 people, which is the tenth highest.

Not surprisingly, the state that drinks the least beer is Utah, which has an annual per capita consumption of just 18.7-gallons, and a total beer consumption of 38.1-million gallons.
