A singer from Lynchburg has made it through to the next round of American Idol auditions!
More than a thousand singers auditioned for American Idol in Richmond on Monday.
Jarell Hall was one of just 22 people who made it through to the next round.
"Once I got to my judge, I didn't sing not once, not twice, not three times, but four times before she gave me a Golden Ticket," Hall said.
The Golden ticket allowed Hall to move on to the interview process which is where he was asked to name three reasons why people said he wouldn't be successful.
"And I said I've been told I wouldn't make it because of my weight, I've been told I wouldn't make it because of my hair and I've been told I wouldn't make it because I'm not relatable like people feel like they couldn't relate to me because of how I look," Hall said.
