The Key To Making Employees Happy

We’re always hearing about companies that offer all sorts of perks in the office, like free food, fitness centers or even massages, but it seems if companies want to keep their employees happy there is a far simpler perk they could be offering.

In case you missed it, a new poll by the Harvard Business Review finds that the thing employees really want the most is natural light and views of the outdoors. Believe it or not, more light actually beat out such perks as onsite cafeterias, fitness centers, and even on-site childcare.

Over a third of employees don’t think they get enough natural light at their office, and  and it really would benefit employers if they had it. The survey finds that 47% of workers say the absence of natural light or a window in their office makes them feel tired, while 43% say it makes them feel gloomy. What’s more, 78% of employees say access to natural light and views improve their well-being, while 70% say it improves their work performance.
