As most of us got ready for Thanksgiving guests to arrive, we did mad cleaning to get the house looking good. And for a couple in Louisiana, that tidying really gave them something to be thankful for when they found a $1.8-million jackpot winning lottery ticket.
Tina and Harold Ehrenberg were cleaning the house and found some old, unchecked lottery tickets in the nightstand. When they checked, they realized one of the tickets from June was the big winner, and they discovered it just in time because it was set to expire in two weeks and they would have lost that money!
Now the couple plans to do the smart thing and put their winnings away for retirement. “We don’t have any plans to buy anything crazy or go on any big trips,” Tina says. And Harold adds, “The most fun is going to be depositing that check!”
