According to researchers, most Americans gain about 2 pounds throughout the holiday season. Although this doesn't sound like much, it can add up over the years. If you want to be proactive, there are a few ways to help curb it.
This one isn't as easy as it sounds...The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics recommend not saving all of your appetite for that big holiday party or dinner. Apparently skipping meals during the day can lead you to over-eat later.
Another recommendation is to eat smaller portions. If this seems difficult to do, start with grabbing a smaller plate!
It is also important to keep your activity level up by continuing to move around after eating dinner. You can also keep an eye on your alcohol consumption.
One last tip! Eat slowly and savor each and every bit.
We hope this helps!
