A couple in California who was checking out Christmas decorations discovered a diaper bag left behind at a display in Long Beach. Gabriel Ruiz and Gabriela Jauregui stopped to take a photo when they found the bag and after no one came back to claim it, they looked inside for clues to return it to its owner.
Ruiz says there was a wallet inside with a ton of cash in it, along with the family’s passports, but they were written in Vietnamese, so they couldn’t read them. Thankfully, the couple found another compartment with contact information inside and they contacted the family to return it.
The father, a Vietnamese man who’s attending college in California and asked not to be named, was thrilled to get the bag, cash, and passports back. He thought he lost his life savings when they stopped to take pictures and left without the diaper bag. “You just saved my life,” the grateful man told his good samaritans when they returned his stuff. “Can I have a hug please?”
