Fans of the Chicago Bears are still in pain after kicker Cody Parkey missed a game-winning field goal over the weekend, ending the team’s season. These fans are blaming him, even though the kick might have been partially blocked.
A couple things made the missed kick even more epic. It was a rare “double-doink,” hitting both the left upright and the crossbar before popping out. And, the kick was made by a guy who just signed a four-year, $15 million contract, with $9 million guaranteed.
Parkey got paid a lot of money to break the hearts of Bears fans.
Well, some of those fans are trying to change things by starting GoFundMe campaigns. At least a couple of them are raising money to buy out Parkey’s contract. And, one is simply trying to buy him a plane ticket out of Chicago.
Whether these campaigns succeed or not, it’s going to be a long offseason for Parkey because fans have long memories. (Total Pro Sports)
