US Postal Service Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Moon Landing With Stamps

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing, July 20, 1969, the U.S. Postal Service has created two new stamps, one of them featuring a picture of Buzz Aldrin, taken by Neil Armstrong. The other stamp has a picture of the moon taken in 2010 by Gregory Revera of Huntsville, Alabama. On the stamp, the landing site of the lunar module in the Sea of Tranquility is indicated by a dot. The U.S. Postal Service said it will announce at a later date the details about the first issue date for the new stamps.
