Get ready for the 2019 CMA Country Christmas special. The annual event is set to air tonight on ABC.
It's the tenth annual event and it will feature some of your favorite artists, like Trisha Yearwood, Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, Brett Young, Runaway June, Chris Young, Rascal Flattsand more. They'll be sharing the stage with other well-known acts including Kristin Chenoweth, Tori Kelly, CeCe Winans and For King & Country. Trisha will serve as your host and it promises to be a great event filled with amazing performances.
While Trisha has performed at the event in the past, this will be her first year hosting. Reba McEntire did the honors last year and Trisha says that the skills she’s gained hosting her cooking show really helped her get through the craziness.
- This year's show will include a very special all-female performance of the classic Christmas spiritual "Children, Go Where I Send Thee."
- The song has been recorded by the likes ofJohnny Cash, Ralph Stanley, Kenny Rogers, and Ricky Skaggs. This time around, it will be performed by a group of iconic female artists. Trisha Yearwood,Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott,Tori Kelly,Kristin Chenoweth, and CeCe Winans all teamed up for a group rendition of the song.
- Also, Rascal Flatts was especially excited to perform alongside CeCe Winans during the 2019 CMA Country Christmas broadcast. They got to perform alongside CeCe singing "Go Tell It on the Mountain" together during the broadcast. For Gary LeVox, Winans is, "one of our all-time favorite American heroes, living, dead, whatever."
