The mystery surrounding the disappearance of a Cal Poly freshman 23 years ago is about to be solved.
That’s according to Kristin Smart’s mother, Denise. The mother says the FBI advised her to be ready for a major development that could close the case. Denise says she was told “Be ready. This is really going to be something you don’t expect. We want to give you the support you need.”
The family was also apparently told to get a family spokesman and think about getting away for a while. They did just that, as public relations expert John Segale has offered to help them for free.
Kristin disappeared on may 25, 1996 while walking home from a frat party. A fellow male student was the last one to see her.
