A robot doctor is treating the first U.S. coronavirus victim.
It’s brilliant strategy to avoid spreading the mystery illness. The American man returned from China, felt ill and went to a hospital in Everett, Washington. That’s where, for the first time, a robot, equipped with a video camera, microphone, and stethoscope is treating the man.
The room was set up as the Ebola virus spread in 2017. It’s one of 10 contained wards, for infectious disease case, that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has designated for epidemic use.
Human doctors can watch from an isolation room without risk of infection.
