National Parks Will Start To Open Slowly As States Do

If you want to get out and explore a National Park, keep tabs on the reopening pace of the state it’s in.

President Trump says national parks will begin reopening as states loosen restrictions to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Trump made that announcement yesterday.

Interior Secretary David Bernhardt, whose department oversees the parks, said decisions on when to reopen parks will be made in conjunction with plans from governors in states with national parks.

Some national parks are open but iconic parks including Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, and Yosemite are closed.Critics are concerned that opening too soon with cause an outbreak at a park.
