Resignations Hit An All Time High In March

The Great Resignation just got greater.

The number of Americans quitting their jobs is at an all-time high. Labor Department figures show four-and-a-half million people voluntarily left their jobs in March, up slightly from the previous month. That is three percent of Americans.

Leisure, hospitality, and manufacturing led the way with the largest increase in job exiting followed by the construction industry. The government also reported a record eleven-and-a-half million job openings at the end of March.

Businesses have been stunned since last spring when the Great Resignation started. The pandemic has given workers pause to think about where, how and why we work.

Zip Recruiter calls this the greatest job seeker’s market of all time.
