Those looking for an engagement ring that stands out in the crowd have a new sparkler to consider. And it comes from a surprising source: Angie’s Boomchickapop. The snack brand has teamed up with luxury jewelry designer Stephanie Gottlieb to create a new shape for diamonds - the popcorn cut.

The pair is calling their creation the first-ever “popcorn-cut diamond ring.” To get the unique shape, Gottlieb’s master diamond cutters started with a massive 11 carat diamond that’s the “light, buttery yellow color” of popcorn and crafted it into the final 3.66 carat popcorn-shaped stone. The polished diamond is set in a simple yellow gold bezel and band, so the spotlight stays on that gem.

Naturally, the ring is perfect for popping the question, but it doesn’t come cheap. The popcorn cut rings can be custom ordered for a limited time at StephanieGottlieb.com starting at $50,000, with prices varying depending on the diamond cost. “Collaborating with Angie’s Boomchickapop on this never-before-seen ring means bringing a touch of whimsy to a milestone moment in a couple’s life,” Gottlieb says, “and we can’t wait to be a part of that.”
