Locusts Can Smell Cancer

Researchers at Michigan State University say they’ve discovered that locusts can smell cancer. The scientists say the insects could differentiate between three types of mouth cancer and normal cells, offering a ‘very fast’ way to detect cancer.

There have been other studies using everything from dogs to ants, but research hasn’t moved forward because scientists can’t find a commercial benefit. Don’t get too excited…the research hasn’t been peer-reviewed to check for any errors.
