With the caption “Wash your greens,” TikToker Ashley Echols has posted a video that’s caused heads to spin on the platform. The 11-second clip shows her loading green vegetables into her washing machine for a 55-minute run on the “delicate” cycle. In the comments, she says “It’s just an idea I had.”
Others in the comments were quick to jump in to point out that the greens could damage her machine, and one saying, “My grandma Martha did this and we got food poisoning for WEEKS,” while others pointed out how her veggies would be coated with residual detergent.
