Pigeon Flies From England To Alabama

(Monroeville, AL) -- An Alabama animal shelter is returning a homing pigeon to its owner, who lives in England. The pigeon named Bob turned up at the Monroe County Animal Shelter, about 90 miles from Mobile and four-thousand miles from where his intended destination. Bob was supposed to fly ten hours from the Channel Islands in the UK to his home in northeast England. Bob was covered in oil when he landed in Alabama and his owner believes the bird hitched a ride on an oil tanker to get across the Atlantic Ocean.
