Man Finds Money Buried Under His Home

A New Jersey couple made a surprise find when renovating their home.

About four years ago, Rich Gilson and his wife, Suzanne, bought a 1920s cottage in Wildwood. They did some renovations, like raising the home up four feet and putting in a new foundation.

On Friday, Rich was tearing up the old foundation when he hit something with his mini-excavator. He didn’t bother to look at the two items until Sunday. It turned out to be money that was tightly rolled and secured with rubber bands. The area they were found in used to be a crawl space.

Rich figured the one-thousand bucks was raised illegally and that’s why it was stashed. The bills were from 1934, so he’s not going to be spending them.
