Ponch and John never had to respond to a call for a “casket on the loose,” but that’s exactly what CHP units had to deal with after receiving calls about a seemingly abandoned casket on the side of the road in San Luis Obispo. Police say the casket belongs to a homeless woman who found it in a dump pile and was told by construction crews that she could have it. The coffin has been moved out of sight, but CHP says the woman is planning to sell it to anyone looking for a second-hand coffin.
