Meteor Sets Off Sonic Boom In Texas

(Austin, TX) -- A meteor that lit up the sky over three states Sunday night set off a sonic boom in Texas. People in towns between Austin and Houston reported hearing what one said sounded like a loud explosion. Security cameras in Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio recorded the fireball streaming across the sky. People in Louisiana and Oklahoma saw it as well. The American Meteor Society says the meteor most likely landed within five miles of Austin, the Texas state capital.
