Chris Young stars in a brand new CMT digital series, “CMT: Stages,” which will have artists looking back at career highlights, iconic songs and musical influences.
Chris’ episode was filmed at the Chris Young Café at his alma mater MTSU in his hometown, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, where he performs such songs as “Gettin’You Home (The Black Dress Song),” “I’m Comin’ Over” and “Famous Friends.”
He also reflects on his childhood, sharing family photos, as well as his journey to stardom, and even talks about the infection he dealt with in 2013 that almost killed him.
“I don’t think people realized quite how bad it was,” he shares. “Out of nowhere, I had an infection in my leg, and I went septic.” It was so bad that he says before he went into surgery a woman told him to say his prayers. Chris says, “When you go through something like that, it does cause you to be grateful for even the bad days because I could have very easily not had any more of them.”
