McDonald’s And Pokémon Bring Back Popular Collaboration

McDonald’s And Pokémon have teamed up again for a collaboration that was super popular last year. In fact, the toys sold out in days and the Pokémon cards showed up on EBay for as much as $500 apiece. Here’s how it works:

According to PokeBeach every Happy Meal will include a 4-card booster pack that also has one collectible foil card for a total of 15 cards that allow fans to play the game with friends. There are six holographic cards are featured this year including:

  • Rowlet
  • Gossifleur
  • Victini
  • Grownlithe
  • Smeargle
  • Pikachu

The meals also have cardboard coins and spinners to play the game and social media got excited when a McDonald’s employee on Reddit leaked a photo of a “Pokémon box that said “Toy 2, Victini – Dark Blue.” This year franchisees are limiting the number of Happy Meal purchases so that everyone can get in on the action. The Happy Meal Pokémon promotion is running now through mid-September.
